And how do you ensure the brand stands out not just locally, but also grabs attention online?

What we did - from vision to action

It all started with a key visual you wouldn’t forget quickly: a combination of technology and nostalgia, created using AI. This visual was more than just an image – it became the defining force behind the entire campaign.

From there, we created a consistent message, spread across multiple channels:

  • Social Media: A series of teasers and posts that piqued curiosity about what was to come.
  • Print and POS material: Everywhere in and around the petrol stations, the story was visible, with banners and posters highlighting the offer.
  • Web and app: The app became the key to success. Through the SuperTank app, customers could see which petrol stations were participating in the campaign. And that campaign? Refuel for the prices of 20 years ago, at selected times.

It was simple: an unexpected offer that enticed customers to download the app. But there was more. Those who signed up had the chance to win the ultimate prize: refuelling at the prices of 20 years ago, through a lottery that gave 100 lucky winners the chance to fuel for free.

The result – queues and downloads like never before

What happened next was magical. The petrol stations were packed. Queueing at the pumps was no exception – it became a phenomenon that made the news. SuperTank was everywhere, and customers came in droves. Read more about it in this article of Noordkop247.

However, the impact didn’t stop at the petrol stations. It also had a major impact on the digital world:
 

  • App downloads skyrocketed. During the campaign period, we saw an increase of no less than 1226%.
  • Web pages explaining the campaign garnered thousands of views, and the number of active users grew by 613%.
